Setting Up Onboarding Quizzes

Onboarding quizzes let you define a set of assessments that are automatically assigned to new team members. When a new member joins your team and receives a license, they'll automatically get assignments for each quiz in your onboarding set.

What Are Onboarding Quizzes?

Onboarding quizzes are a persistent configuration for your team. Unlike regular assignments which are one-time actions, the onboarding quiz set stays configured and applies to every new member who joins.

Configuring the Onboarding Set

Go to your team page and open the Assignments tab
Scroll to the "Onboarding Quizzes" section
Click "Add Quiz" to add a quiz to the onboarding set
Select a quiz from the dropdown of published quizzes
Repeat for each quiz you want new members to take

How It Works for New Members

When a new member receives a team license (either through accepting an invitation or via automatic domain-based joining):

The system checks your onboarding quiz set
An assignment is created for each quiz in the set, with the type "onboarding"
The new member receives notifications (email and in-app) about their assigned quizzes
The quizzes appear in their assigned quiz banner on the dashboard and quizzes pages

Managing the Onboarding Set

Add quizzes — click "Add Quiz" and select from published quizzes. Duplicate additions are handled gracefully.
Remove quizzes — click the remove button next to any quiz. This only removes it from the onboarding set — existing assignments are not affected.

📝 Important Notes

Existing members are not affected when you change the onboarding set. Changes only apply to members who join after the change.

Removing a quiz from the onboarding set does not delete any assignments that were already created for existing members.

Only licensed members receive onboarding assignments. If a member joins but isn't licensed yet, they won't receive assignments until they get a license.

💡 Recommended Setup

Start with 1-3 key quizzes that help new members integrate with the team. Too many onboarding quizzes can feel overwhelming. You can always assign additional quizzes individually later.
